About the founder

The 8.45 Club and its courses are brought to you by Being Smarter Ltd – known for getting your business noticed.

Mark Copeman is the founder and has been working with sales and marketing people in both large and small business for the last 15 years. He has worked extensively in B2B marketing, starting up and selling his share in Twist Media Ltd which specialises in helping sales and marketing people get the most out of selling and demonstrating their products.

During his time at Twist Media, Mark worked to deliver presentations for share-price affecting analyst briefings, worked directly with Chief Executives and delivered a system managing a global telco’s PowerPoint assets and distributing them regularly to 4,000 sales people while they slept. He established the ‘Virtual Expert’ concept with one of his largest clients – filming subject matter experts and then reusing that footage in multiple ways. It’s a simple idea, yet can reap real dividends.

In 2008, Mark worked as an interim director of The Marketing Practice where he worked to turn around their largest account and implemented a new ERP system to manage the business into its next phase.

In October 2008 he set off on a new journey with a blank sheet of paper and a drive to do something new again.

In February 2009, Being Smarter launched The 8.45 Club – its first major online venture delivering video-based online training in 10 minute bite sized chunks – because who has time to learn any more? During 2009, partnerships were formed with various subject matter experts, a US training company and a UK based customer service training company.

In December 2009, Mark formed a relationship with one of the world’s leading Internet Marketers, Ed Dale

Throughout 2010, The 8.45 Club has released new courses under the Ed-ucation Online brand as well as continuing to work with other partner and subject matter experts.
